Hey, me again...just realized that this video was recorded in June, 2010, when Mr. Thomas was the special guest on Daryl Hall's monthly internet concert series, "Live From Daryl's House," then was only finally posted this past fall. This would explain that the beautiful summer scene outside the windows behind the musicians, when here I had been speculating that Daryl's House is somewhere in a warm climate, unlike the one the rest of us in the northeast were experiencing as we were getting our little ones dressed up and ready for their trick-or-treating.

So forget my question about why such a cool group of musicians got together this past Halloween, because it doesn't matter when it was recorded, only that it is a gift for this Motown girl to experience a whole different version of this famous Marvin Gaye tune.

Probably none of this fan's business, but since I have been told I am a pretty perceptive person...seems Rob looks a little sad as he sings about what he's heard through the grapevine. Obviously, Mr. Thomas uses an on stage persona, and that alter ego who performs to release his emotion, much of which has appeared to me to be anger or sadness or both during this recent tour. In this particular video, I am seeing a guy who looks bummed out, and is trying to hide it the way he hides a lot of his personal life from his public. Maybe it's just the ever curious reporter part of me reading too much into it, and all that's going on through the grapevine is Rob is simply having a bad day?

Undoubtedly the tride and true Motown fans, especially some feisty Detroiters I know might argue that Marvin Gaye's version will always be the best, but as far as I am concerned, this is now the best version out there of this classic Motown sound.

I absolutely love it, I mean like love, love it...but I am thinking what are a bunch of cool musicians like you guys doing recording this on October 31, when you could have either been out at a Halloween party, or trick or treating with the favorite kids in your life, or just sitting around drinking beers instead of dealing with far too much candy?

You don’t need to explain because I love this video so much, now that I have seen it and know about your new recording, I will be wearing out my laptop keys because I will be playing it over and over and over.

Daryl Hall is looking good especially in the sweet shades, as do the other guys in the video, and their sound is incredible, but that hot singer and songwriter Rob Thomas is absolutely to die for hot…and his voice, well, don’t get me started…
